I was unhappy for a while which caused my girlfriend at the time unhappiness.
One evening, after an awkward dinner (a lot of silence) we were talking at her place. She was telling me about some of the things she planned on doing. I brought up the topic of staying together and told her that I feel it’s best that we end the relationship. Telling her how we’re both unhappy and there’s no point with trying to make things better. We’ve tried many times before but ended up stuck. She agreed. She knew deep down that there was no hope. It was a very nice break up. We talked, laughed, cried and cried some more. At the end, we hugged one last time and said goodbye.
We haven’t spoken, texted or seen each other in weeks now. It’s hard letting go of someone who was so close to you, but if you’re not happy, you can’t make the other person happy. Sometimes it’s best to go separate ways.
